Museveni launched a full blown attack on the government of President Apollo Milton Obote on 05th February 1981 after disagreeing with the electoral outcomes where he lost presidency terribly.
He launched his fighting at Kabamba Military barracks with a group of 27 men who braved and risked to fire the first bullets, the war would later rage on to the Luwero jungles for almost 5 years and on 26th January the successfully captured government.

Since then he has been ruling Uganda with all his entire life without fear of favor and has been striking down anything blocking his deal for presidency by introducing multi-party democracy in 2005, removing the term limits in the same year and he successfully also removed the age limit cap for presidency from the constitution in 2017.
The constitution was limiting anyone beyond 75 years from contesting for presidency but through parliament, Museveni made this from 18 years to Unlimited.
Several of Museveni bush war heroes have rested and a handful of them are still alive. It’s yet day as they mourn Col Jack Mucunguzi who was one of the 27 guys to attack Kabamba Army barracks.
Mourning the fallen soldier, Museveni says Mucunguzi was the commander Section 4 of the nucleus of their National Resistance Army (NRA).
Additionally, I am saddened to hear that Jack Mucunguzi has passed away. He was one of the 27 who attacked Kabamba with me and he was the commander of Section 4 of the nucleus of the NRA. Condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest eternal peace.
