The signing of the anti-homosexuality bill into law and it becoming the Anti-homosexuality act 2023 has elicited mixed reactions with the pro-gay activists condemning it while the anti-gay activists welcoming it with two hands and thanking president Museveni for taking such a bold move.

Western countries especially European Union and the US warned of dire consequences should president Museveni sign the bill into law. They warned of pulling out funding from Museveni’s government in key sectors like Health, Security, Education, Agriculture, Governance among others.

Indeed they’ve started biting and it’s been revealed that speaker Anita Among who championed this bill has had her American visa cancelled in retaliation for the Anti-homosexuality act 2023 which president Museveni signed into law.

While appearing at a local television today, Hon Asuman Basalirwa who breathed life into this bill by re-introducing it to the floor of parliament revealed that visas have been cancelled and says if Ugandan MPs who supported the bill have to pay that price of being denied visas or having them cancelled, so it be.
