The office of the prime minister (OPM) is at again and is in the news for the bad reasons after several ministers in the Office f the prime ministers shared thousands and thousands of iron sheets which were meant to be in Karamoja on roofs of several Karimojongs and reformed cattle rustlers.
The OPM at least is ever involved in corruption scandals that end up costing the tax payer billions. This time round several Museveni ministers were involved casting doubts on Museveni’s efforts to end corruption in the banana republic. This has happened during the many years of John Patrick Amama Mbabazi, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda and not exceptional to Nabbanja.

Among the top ministers involved included the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanjja, Minister Matia Kasaija, Minister Rebecca Kadaga, Minister Rukia Isanga Nakadama, Amos Lugoloobi, Judith Nabakooza, Grace Anyakun, Hamson Obua, Fred Kyakulaga, Rose Lilly Akello, Vice president Jesca Alupo, Agnes Nanduutu and Dr Mary Goreti Kitutu for Karamoja affairs who’s carrying the cross on behalf of the others.
Kitutu was last week on Thursday remanded to Luzira prisons and she’s spending this year’s Easter behind bars till 12th April when her bail application will come up for ruling together with her brother.
Several ministers and Mabaati beneficiaries including Vice president, Premier Nabbanja and the other ministers all interfaced with the Jesca Ababiku-led presidential affairs committee to give their side of the story.
Ministers like Matia Kasaija vividly revealed that they never requested for the iron sheets and he’s not aware of how the iron sheets reached his compound and also gave them out to churches.
The speaker Anita Among openly said she also never asked for the iron sheets and just found them in her Bukedea district and also gave them out to government schools despite the iron sheets being received by the headteacher of her own school Bukedea Comprehensive College. She has since bought 500 iron sheets and returned them to OPM.
In her interface with the Ababiku-led committee, prime minister Robinah Nabbanja made a shocking revelation that left every one confused. She said something about several of Museveni’s cabinet ministers whom she’s not able to monitor because of their level of education.
According to Nabbanja, some ministers are highly educated than her and this gives her hard time to monitor them forexample Kitutu who holds a PhD. She’s a full Dr who’s far higher than Nabbanja and it’s not easy to monitor her.
"Some of these Ministers are highly educated. When you look at Hon Kitutu, she is highly educated, she is a Doctor, but by the time you attain that status, you are highly educated.
