Hoima City Woman MP Hon Nyakato Asinansi has been arrested by police on the orders of Hoima City RCC Mugabi Badru as she launched Mama Oil City Women’s football tournament which was scheduled for today at Buswekera Playground in Hoima City.
The Leaders of Hoima City were supposed to have a Football march with the Boda bodas in Hoima which was to be am opening match for the Women’s tournament which which will end with a final match on the Easter Sunday.

The day was supposed to begin with planting of over 5000 trees on various public places in Hoima City which include schools, churches, mosques and others and then in the afternoon the opening match between the leaders and boda boda was to commence.
According to the organizing team, the police and security was noticed of the match in a letter written on Friday 3rd Match 2023 and the tournament had been okayed by the Hoima Football Association.
Hon Nyakato Asinansi has been arrested together with Kasule Ismail of the Alliance for National Transformation and other Opposition leaders in Hoima.
The RCC Hoima City one Mugabi Badru has been notorious in clamping down the opposition in Hoima City including attempting to stop Hon Nyakato from speaking on public gatherings.
The RDC hasn’t been reached for a comment as his known phones were off and attempts to speak to the DPC Hoima were futile as his phone was off.
