BUKWO: Residents of Bukwo district in Sebei sub region have asked President Museveni to take interest and intervene into the persecution of their district chairperson Julius Chelimo.
JChelimo the district boss of Bukwo local government was arrested on the 31st of October 2022 by the CID officials and took him to Kampala on allegations of child abduction and defilement.
He was arraigned before the chief magistrate in Kampala before he was committed to high court.
However, the relatives and the supporters of Chelimo have described his arrest as political witch-hunt from the current sitting members of parliament from Bukwo district after Chelimo declared interest to contest for member of Kongasis county.
One of the relatives to of the incarcerated district boss told this website that ever since he (Chelimo) was arrested, his political opponents have been celebrating saying he was finished politically.
“What we are seeing going on is politics nothing else because even the girl that they claim Chelimo defiled and impregnated has never given birth since last year and she’s at school”- she said
Moses Chesal another supporter of Chelimo said ever since he was arrested the district has failed to improve on the development.
“He had started war against the corrupt Bukwo district officials now since he was taken to jail, in Luzira prisons, Bukwo has lost billions of shillings to these thugs”-Chesal says
He further appeals the president to intervene by ensuring that Chelimo is released and returns to offer services to the people of Bukwo.
