In the news this morning, Uganda’s Ambassador to Kenya and high commissioner to Seycheles Hassan Waswa Galiwango has died this morning.
According to a death announcement signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary Amb Charles Ssentongo, Amb Galiwango died this morning at Nairobi Hospital in Kenya’s capital.
According to several reports, the former director of finance in Museveni’s NRM party died of heart related complications which he has been battling in hospital for a couple of days.
Galiwango is husband to Mbale City women representative Connie Nakayenze Galiwango who is serving on an independent ticket but a bornafide NRM member.

He was appointed by president Museveni as High Commissioner to Kenya, Seyhelles and Permanent representative to the United Nations Environmental Program and UN HABITAT on 16th June 2021.
Ambassador Galiwango replaced Amb Phibby Otala who had served as Uganda’s ambassador to Kenya since 2017, she reportedly resigned to take part in politics in her NRM party but luck wasn’t on her side to win.
