State house has opened up on a fake letter that has been making rounds on social media alleging that president Museveni has ordered the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) to arrest several prominent business men over funding rebel activities of the Uganda Coalition Forces of Change. A rebel group that is said to have been behind the attacks on several police stations in Mityana and Mubende.
Through his twitter handle, Kirunda Faruk the deputy Press Secretary to the president, has disowned the fake letter indicating that it’s fake and president Museveni the Chief of Defense Forces hasn’t made any of such orders.
In the letter it’s alleged that Iganga-based Al-hajji Njubi of World Fisheries, Hajji Kintu Musitafa of Rwenzori Limited, Ibrahim Kitabalwa of City Tyres, Jaberi Nsubuga of Mayuge Sugar, Sserwadda Kalori of Lwadda Pharmacy, Karim Hirji of Imperial Hotels, Rtd Major Nyansio of Safe Boda, Richard Kasozi of Ziru Island, Ssembajjo Patrick the Managing Director of Kabaka’s BBS telefayina and Rtd Maj Mugambe K David have been funding rebel activities.
The fake letter further states that the above should be arrested for sponsoring rebel activities that have seen police stations, army installations and private security guards attacked and killed.
“The above mentioned people have been sponsoring terrorism through through the said group, killing police officers, innocent civilians and stealing guns for some time.”- reads part of the said letter.
