Sad news reaching our desk indicate that former Democratic Party boss and seasoned politician Paul Kawanga Semogerere has died this morning at the age of 90 years.
Semogerere was a presidential candidate in the 1980 disputed presidential elections that sparked Museveni’s bush war that lasted for over five years in the Luwero forests.
He would later serve in Museveni’s government as Internal affair minister, Deputy prime minister and minister for foreign and regional affairs, Deputy prime minister and minister for public service.
He retired as DP president in 2005 to concentrate on his private businesses
