Firebrand politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi wine is set to be nominated to run for the country’s top seat today. Bobi wine who is the current legislator for the Kyadondo East is running on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket.
Yesterday several other candidates were nominated; among these is Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni who is running on the NRM ticket in a bid to extend his rule to 40 years, Alliance for National Transformation (A.N.T) Mugisha Muntu Greg, former Museveni’s spy Henry Tumukunde who is running on an independent ticket.
However, some two aspirants who are 24-year-old John Katumba and Nancy Kalembe Lindah were not nominated due to failure to pay the UGX 20 million shillings but were given chance to turn up today for nomination upon payment of the nomination fee.
The other candidates set to be nominated today are DP’s Norbert Mao, FDC’s Patrick Oboi Amuriat, Independent candidate Joseph Kabuleta Kiiza. Nominations are taking place at Kyambogo University cricket grounds.
Bobi wine is franked by his wife Barbie Itungo alongside several NUP members like Muhammad Ssegirinya commonly known as Mr Updates, Hon. Nsamba, Hon Francis Zaake, Hon Asuman Basalirwa,Hon. John Baptist Nambeshes, David Lewis Rubongoya among others.
