Journalist Drags E.C To Court Over Voter Verification Irregularities

Journalist and Buvuma district aspiring MP Kiggundu Ben

On monday 21st the electoral commision kicked off the voter verification exercise as part of it’s road map to the 2021 general elections, the exercise was slated will be taking one week untill monday 28th October.

Many political actors have thrown a blame to the electoral commision and urging it to extend the exercise since some of the voters are currently doing UCE exams and others are in boarding schools hence leaving out majority of the first time voters.

A caution of interest has been drawn by Kiggundu Ben a Jinja Journalist and the aspiring MP for Buvuma District who claims that many of the students in Buvuma were registered recently during the NIRA registration and they have not received their National IDs yet they qualify to be voters”

Kiggundu however asked the electoral commission to clarify on these matters before he seeks an injunction from court to stop the process since it’s being done in a hasty way that’s raising concerns from all the corridors of power and the public domain.
