In the news this evening, Hajjat Nusura Nabukalu Juma the Deputy RDC of Budaka District has died in a motor accident this evening.
The accident took place in Kakira along the very busy Jinja-Iganga highway at around 5pm today 29th December 2024.
Reports suggest that the accident occurred when her white Toyota Double Cabin Reg number UG 4803C which was traveling towards Jinja collided headon with a trailer registration number KDH 025V which was coming from the Jinja side.
Nabukalu contested for the Jinja City Women Member of Parliament in the 2021 General election and lost to NUP’s Manjeri Kyebakutika.
She’s famous for pioneering the Busoga Women Leaders Association (BWERA) which was funded by president Museveni to spur leadership and politics in Busoga among women. She served at the Jinja District Land board in 2010 as a member.
Prior to being posted to Budaka as Deputy RDC, she started from Sironko still as Deputy RDC.
A cloud of sorrow hovers above Busoga, Jinja District and the entire NRM party which she served in different capacities.
