Bukombansimbi Women District Representative on National Unity Platform ticket Honorable Veronica Nanyondo in a letter addressed to the speaker of parliament expressed her interest to withdraw her signature from the censure motion being hawked by Lwemiya County MP Theodore Ssekikubo and Tororo District representative Sarah Acheing Opendi.

In her letter, Nanyondo revealed that she was hoodwinked and thought she was signing a meeting attendance list and she didn’t know she was signing a censure motion to remove parliamentary Commissioners Mathias Mpuuga, Solomon Silwany, Esther Afoyochan and Prossy Mbabazi over their scramble and partitioning of a whooping Shs1.7billion amongst themselves as service awards.

“Rt Honorable Speaker i was hoodwinked into appending my signature to what was disguised as an attendance list a meeting called by the Leader of Opposition in his Department’s Boardroom this morning”-MP Veronica Nanyondo’s letter reads in part.

However, seems there’s an invincible hand that forced the Honorable Veronica to withdraw her signature from the censure motion because a document making rounds on social media clearly shows the cause for the collection of signatures other than her claims that she thought she was signing an attendance list.

STORY CONTINUES AFTER ADVERT

The census movers have often claimed several MPs are being kept away and being offered trips to Tanzania and Kenya just to dodge and be inaccessible to sign the censure motion yet when parliament was censuring MP Francis Zaake in 2022 and Minister Persis Namuganza, they were full house.

The Document Which Hon Nanyondo Signed- adopted from NILE POST

Amidst the signature collection, NRM legislators have been warned to risk appending their signature on the censure not until the president directs them to so. But by the time the order came, a reasonable number of them including Minister Persis Namuganza had already signed.
