President Museveni launched a guerilla war against the then newly elected Obote government in the early 1980s. Five years later, his National Resistance Army (NRA) ran over Kampala and took over power in 1986.
Museveni has never looked back since then, changing the constitution to remove term limits to removing the age-limit to allow him stay longer in power now 38 years and still counting with plans to install his son Muhoozi on the throne going by the way things are unfolding politically.

Former Minister without Portfolio now Senior Presidential Advisor Alhajji Abdu Nadduli who was directly part of the war that ushered in the Museveni government into power is not happy with the way Museveni is favoring new comers in the party by giving them powerful positions and bags of money and leaving out the real fighters who were on the frontline to fight in the bush.
Speaking at Kasana Mosque grounds in Luwero district during Eid prayers, Nadduli highlighted the need for Museveni to remember the fighters of Luwero triangle than concentrating on new entrants whom he reward with juicy positions and huge cash as those who fought continue languishing in abject poverty.
Currently the parliament of Uganda is led by new NRM members and former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) converts Thomas Tayebwa and Anita Among. Among is powerful to the extent that whoever talks about her excesses is suspended or interdicted. Recently Rubaga RCC Herbert Anderson Burora was fired for calling out Anita Among on corruption and misuse of tax payers’ money.
The president has often times rewarded new NRM converts from opposition with big cash, vehicles and ministerial positions leaving his NRM people brewing with anger as they do a lot for the part on ground that the new converts.
Al-Hajji Nadduli is not happy with the government for failing to settle the Luweero question. He also expressed concern that new entrants into the NRM are given special attention, while the old guards are being forgotten. #NTVNews
