Ora Technical Institute-Warr To Hold First Graduation

More than 1200 students who have completed two years National Certificate programs in building construction, electrical installation, plumbing, carpentry and joinery (woodwork technologies), automotive mechanic, Fashion design at Ora Technical Institute-Warr have been cleared for Graduation.

The Management Ora Technical Institute-Warr has revealed the development to the journalists of Zombo Press Association (ZOPA) on Tuesday 9th April in a press Conference at Daudi Courts in Paidha town council, Zombo district.

According to the Institute, all the students have been examined by UBTEB from the inception of the institute in 1983-2023 and are eligible for the graduation scheduled for 26th April 2024 at the school Campus in Atyak Sub-county Zombo district.

“We admit students who have completed “O” level and Uganda community polytechnic certificate courses (Junior level) in National Certificate” The school principal Okoda Booker explained to journalists

Okoda added that they have invited Commissioner TVET, MPs, district officials, religious and cultural institution of Alur Kingdom to grace the first graduation ceremony.

Ora Technical Institute is a government aided and founded by the Roman Catholic church in 1982 and has now skilled thousands of Ugandans in courses such as National certificates in building and construction, plumbing carpentry and joinery, Motor vehicle automotive mechanic, Fashion design.

The institute has been offering among others short term courses like road construction and maintenance and topography and land surveying under the Uganda skills development project funded by World Bank.

“Under this project the World bank has facilitated the institution in terms of equipment, ICT laboratory, heavy truck and a thirty seater van which is meant to facilitate the training when we take our trainees outside.” Okoda explained

The management sat down with the board of governors and resolved to have the graduation ceremony this month to celebrate the success of the alumni because the institution has shaped them and many of our alumni play a great role in this country. The Principal say

The director of Studies Ora technical institute who doubled as the COC Chairman graduation ceremony, Asea Coxton has observed that the form 1983-2023 students have been studying and passing through without celebrating their achievement and that they believe that through the graduation ceremony they will also build strong bonds with the alumni.

Asea observed that they have planned the graduation fee of 153000 inclusive of gown.

He appealed to the old students to turn-up in big numbers for the graduation ceremony and urged the populace to embrace vocational skill programs.

“I asked the people of Zombo to encourage the girls to join the institution to acquire practical skills.” Asea alluded
