Outspoken Internal Affairs Minister and bush War Hero Maj Gen Kahinda Otafiire has lashed out at those who normally say that he hates Muhoozi Keinerugaba the first son and President Museveni’s Advisor on special operations.
Many times, the Muhoozi crusaders have always rebuked Otafiire claiming he hates Muhoozi, the recent one turned into a verbal exchange between Kasambya legislator David Kabanda and Otafiire’s son and another still on X formerly Twitter by Balaam Barugahare. These contend that in whatever he says about Muhoozi, Otafiire depicts hatred against the first son.
In a video making rounds on social media, Minister Otafiire has made it categorically clear that he doesn’t hate Gen Muhoozi Keinerugaba but he only doesn’t want him as the next president and he says he’s open on that without hiding any feelings.
“I hear people say Kahinda hates Museveni’s son, he hates Muhoozi Keneirugaba. I don’t hate Keinerugaba as a person, I don’t want him as a president. there is a different. I have no problem with Keinerugaba as Museveni’s son but Keinerugaba the president of Uganda, I don’t support that. I’m very open on that one.”-says Otafiire.
His comments come at a time when Muhoozi’s MK Movement last week transitioned and rebranded into the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU). The event was graced by many NRM members of parliament and key Museveni ministers and NRM party leaders including Vice National Chairman Eastern Capt Mike Mukula.
The rebranding of Muhoozi’s MK movement to PLU and blessed by Key Museveni and NRM members has elicited mixed reactions with majority saying all these are part of Museveni’s political game plan ahead of the 2026 general elections where all signs show he’ll contest to push his grip to power to 45 years.
