TOP STORY: Opposition Set To Hold Joint Press Conference

The opposition groupings in Uganda will hold a joint press conference at the Forum for Democratic Change/ Besigye Katonga-based office as the country will be hosting the NAM summit in Kampala which is taking place from Monday 15th -Friday 20th 2024.

The press Conference is set to be convened by the FDC faction of Katonga, National Unity Platform, Mugisha Muntu’s Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) and the UPC Faction led by Counsel Peter Warubiri.

This publication is privy to information of an opposition coalition dubbed the Forum For  Uganda National Democratic Alliance (FUNDA) a newly formed coalition which will be a driving force of FDC-Katonga, ANT, another Offcut of DP led by Lulume Bayiga, NUP and the UPC faction of Warubili and Olala Otunu.

Sources indicate that this will be an opposition coalition which will be led by Besigye as it’s patron and Bobi Wine as their presidential candidate in the 2026 general election to take on Museveni as he intends to extend his grip to power to 45 years.

It’s not yet clear what lies ahead in the press conference and the stakes at hand since Museveni will be hosting the Non Aligned Movement, a high level event at the Munyonyo Convention Centre.
