The principal of the National Unity Platform Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has broken his silence on the assassination attempt on House of prayer ministries Lead Pastor Aloysius Bugingo on the tragic night of 2nd January 2023. The incident costed the life of Bugingo’s Bodyguard Corporal Richard Muhumuuza.
Bugingo through his summons has always drummed up support of president Yoweri Museveni and his son Muhoozi Keinerugaba who has since asked for quick investigations into the shooting incident for the first time since shootings of high profile individuals started way back in 2012.

While doing the same, Bugingo has been hitting hard the opposition especially the NUP boss Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and some times making fun of the victims of torture and disappearance including one moment when he blamed Bobi Wine for the death of his driver Yasin Kawuma who was shot dead by the military on 13th August 2018 leading to violent protests.
Speaking about the incident, Bobi Wine has said he’s shocked but not surprised further revealing that when such happens Ugandans are only left to ask who’s next as president blames the same on the PIGS and the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) which his government has been fighting since November 2021 but continue launching scathing attacks on Uganda leaving scores dead and injured.
Bobi Wine however sends sympathies to the family of the slain Body guard Richard Muhumuuza who died in line of duty protecting the vocal man of God. The NUP principal despite the open hatred towards him and his party by the injured pastor, he has asked everyone to pray for him while declaring gun violence which has been normalized in Uganda.
“Whatever it is, I send sympathies to Pastor Bugingo, his family and all those who fellowship at House of Prayer Ministries. I also send sympathies to the family of the deceased, Mr. Richard Muhumuza. Although Pastor Bugingo has been very hateful towards us and our struggle for a better country, I want to encourage all of us to pray for him at this time and extend sympathy towards him and his family”- Bobi Wine posted.
I was shocked but not surprised by the alleged gun attack on Pastor Bugingo that left his Assistant/ Driver/Church-elder/ UPDF- SFC bodyguard dead.
