The Uganda People’s Defense Forces has detained a junior officer identified as Private Kyambadde impersonation among other cases. According to the Army, the junior officer has been masquerading as a UPDF senior officer at the rank of a major yet he’s at the lower rank of a private.

According to the UPDF Act, the process of getting promoted in the army depends on various factors, including age, level of education, and prior experience in military service as well as how you demonstrate strong leadership skills, commitment to your unit, and consistent performance of your duties.
It’s only the president who is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces Gen Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni to promote the officers in UPDF not self promotion like what Kyambadde is being accused.
