At the time of his appointment to a new office, Zaake was battling two disciplinary cases, first for sabotaging Deputy Speaker of parliament Thomas Tayebwa during plenary and second is for calling Rakai Women member of parliament Juliet Kinyamatama a prostitute. The Abdu Katuntu-led committee is yet to conclude on the matters.

From being Ndejje University’s Guild president to the august house, Zaake who hails from a wealthy family in Mityana joined parliament at the age of 25 years in 2016. His style of politics got a dramatic turn when he started rubbing shoulders with Bobi Wine and he has been arrested and tortured severally.

Speaking to NTV, Zaake revealed how he met Bobi Wine in the US and how the two have greatly grown politically while opposing Museveni’s almost four decade rule of steel and iron as his son Muhoozi Keinerugaba looks at taking the throne from his father when an opportune time avails itself.

Zaake speaks about how parliament is just a hub of deals, showbiz but with no serious business taking place in there despite having a speaker Anita Annette Among and her Deputy Thomas Tayebwa.

I will repeat it without any fear, parliament is just a talk show, it is just a dealing centre where people cut deals from. It’s a parliament where people just earn money. It’s a building, an institution where Ugandans are taken for granted”-says Zaake.

Francis Zaake during the interview with NTV also detailed on how he met Bobi Wine and has never looked back in his style of opposition politics from the times of people power movement to now the National Unity Platform whose ticket made him to sail to parliamentary avenue for the second term.

“I wanted to give up, i wanted to quit but i realized that quitting is never the solution. When you quit, you’re a failure”-Zaake said before revealing how he met his friend Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine.

“We met in UNAA and from there i was inspired, i loved him but he was also amazed seeing a young leader and politician involved and to him it was an inspiration”-said Zaake.

The Mityana municipality legislator also opened up on the origin of their disagreement with speaker Anita Among and why he thinks she hates him to the extent that she made sure he’s thrown out of the parliamentary commission. Even when he won the petition in court and parliament was ordered to re-instate him, this was never done until the time when he was replaced by former Leader of Opposition in parliament Mathias Mpuuga.

In other News, Zaake and his wife have welcomed another bundle of Joy to their family a baby girl whom they’ve since named Elsie Butebi.
