Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has vehemently and unapologetically branded the chairperson of the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) Mariam Wangadya a shameless and heartless woman basing on how she has handled NUP’s issues of the lost party supporters whose whereabouts remain a mystery.
The NUP principal was replying to a tweet by maverick human rights lawyer Nicholas Opio who in a series of tweets openly criticized the UHRC boss Wangadya of how she speaks while addressing some concerns especially the disappearance of NUP party supporters who are grabbed in broad daylight aboard the famous Drones but instead head for journey’s of no return as they become untraceable.

“I’ve spoken to dozens of human rights practitioners, including those working for the @UHRC_UGANDA . I can confidently say that the majority of the views of Madam Wangadya (the Chair of the Commission) are fringe if not her self-serving views. Many are deeply concerned about cases of disappearances, torture, and extra-judicial killings during the past elections & now”- posted Nicholas Opio
Wangadya has since taking over the reigns of the Uganda Human Rights Commission faced criticism of how the body she leads is not helpful to the Ugandans and do not handle critical matters conclusively. The UHRC which used to be verbal in matters of human rights abuses is no longer the one under Wangadya. Many activists especially from the opposition have even called for her resignation if she’s not able to deliver according to standards yet she’s supposed to hold the regime accountable on matters Human Rights.
