If your in Uganda and connected to the national grid, you must have experienced some power black out for the last 40 minutes.
Now according to the UMEME, an agency mandated with the distribution and management of electricity in Uganda, the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited UETCL has confirmed that the problem is country wide but their engineers are doing their best restore power and ascertain the cause of the issue.

Uganda boosts of over several hydro power electric dams which include Bujagali, Kiira, Isimba, Nalubaale, Karuma (all located along the river Nile) and Achwa. But Karuma which will generate 600 Mega Watts is set to be launched later this year.

With these huge investments in hydro power dams mostly with Chinese loans, Uganda exports electricity to Kenya, Rwanda, DRC and is also set to export power to South Sudan.
