President Museveni who has been under isolation since last week after testing positive for Covid-19 has again updated the country on his journey of Covid-19 which he’s walking while at home.

According to Museveni, since he’s a Covid-19 patient, he wasn’t able to travel to Poland for the Ukraine-Russia peace-talks where he was set to join other African presidents from Comoros, Egypt, South Africa, Senegal, Congo- Brazzaville and Zambia. He won’t go but has since sent former Premier Dr Ruhakana Rugunda to represent him.

The president will however make his first public appearance tomorrow at Kololo where there will be a budget reading presented to parliament. Museveni has also revealed that he’s still testing positive for Covid-19 but the first lady is negative because they follow all precautions.

Museveni last week delegated all his presidential duties to Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja for two days and even represented him at the National Heroes Day in Luwero. He had also delegated Vice president Jessica Alupo to stand in for him at the National Budget reading tomorrow but he has decided to come by himself.

However the president will not inspect the parade, take the salute for the match past instead it will only be the Vice president to do this on his behalf and will only make some brief remarks at the end of the budget reading.

Museveni as a way to follow the precautions since he’s positive of Covid-19, he will be at a social distance of 300 metres away and then address parliament and the audience that will be present tomorrow at Kololo.

“Since I am not travelling to Kiev and Russia, I will be able to address Parliament tomorrow at a distance of 300m on the budget Day. Otherwise, I had delegated the whole effort to VP Alupo, Now that I am not traveling, she will inspect the Parade for me, take the salute for the match past and I will make my brief remarks at the end of budget speech”- tweeted Museveni
