News reaching our desk indicate former leader of Opposition in parliament and FDC strong man from Bugiri Philip Wafula Ogutu has lost his wife this evening.
Reports indicate that Alice Ogutu died from Three Rivers Medical Facility in Old Kampala at around 10pm as confirmed by her son Steven Ogutu.

Mrs Alice Ogutu has been battling cancer for some time, she even underwent some surgery in India last year but still her health instead just deteriorated. She died at the age of 61 years.
Wafula Ogutu lost his second wife Freda Ogutu in July 2012 who also died of Cancer.
He was Leader of Opposition in the 8th Parliament but was voted out in 2016 as voters chose Solomon Silwany who again won in 2021 though he might face a tough race in 2026 if former Bugiri district Women MP and former NRM Secretary General Justin Lumumba Kasule comes in this Bukhooli Central constituency.
In other news, Bunyole East legislator Yusuf Mutembuli also lost his wife yesterday who perished in an accident in Bukoto.
