In Uganda, whenever it rains in the city in the areas of Kisenyi and Bwaise, among other places, city dwellers get worried because these rains come with a lot of force, making it’s way in houses, roads and sometimes sweep even people in the trenches.
Sad news coming in indicate that landslides have swept several villages in Buluganya sub county in Bulambuli district in the Mountain Elgon region.
Efforts are underway to save those who are trapped as houses were swept by the landslides.
According to recue teams already in the area, seven people have so far been confirmed dead and the number is most likely going to raise.

Uganda Red Cross and police have activated the rescue operations.
It’s not the first time landslides are ravaging and causing havoc to Ugandans especially those living near mountainous areas of Kasese, Kabale, Buduuda, Mbale, Bulambuli among other places where rivers flowing from mountains burst their banks and end up sweeping people.
These happens year in, year out and people lose lives, property is destroyed.
