Dr Jimmy Spire Ssentongo who is a renown cartoonist, columnist with the Observer news paper and a lecturer at Uganda Martyrs University is living in fear after getting numerous death threats something he can’t take for a joke since anything is possible in the matooke republic.
Spire is the man behind the #Kampalapotholesexpo where the sorry state of Kampala roads was exposed on social media by netizens in the city. This caused panic that prompted president Museveni to immediately convene a meeting with the KCCA ED Dorothy Kisaka, he ordered Finance Ministry to release Shs6bilion to fix the potholes in the capital Kampala.

After the Potholes Expo, Spire also championed the #UgandaHealthExpo where the sorry state of Ugandan hospitals were exposed on twitter by netizens something that didn’t go well with several government bosses. In one of his appearance on NBS Tv, ICT Minister Dr Chris Baryomunsi said government officials can lose sleep because netizens are exposing the bad roads and hospitals.
Now Dr Ssentongo Jimmy spire has backtracked on the campaigns that have since exposed the corruption and the sorry state of hospitals and roads in Uganda especially in the capital Kampala.
Spire sent a veiled message to those after his life on Twitter where he said you can silence the alarming birds but snakes will come in silence. He also revealed that he’s away of all the evil plans aimed at him.
I’m aware of evil plans aimed at me. Well, I’ve made my humble contribution. I hope this country traces its soul. I hope a time comes when we ask ourselves: Is this the best we can be? I leave now, but: SILENCE ALL ALARM BIRDS, SNAKES WILL COME IN SILENCE.
