KAABONG: As the greater Karamoja region feels the pain and coming to terms that iron sheets meant for them were shared amongst a few politicians in Kampala led by minister for Karamoja affairs Mary Goreti Kitutu who has who since apologized for diverting relief items to her family members and political supporters, there are more other Karimojong pastoralists who are feeling more pain after they were conned their goats.
Speaking to this publication, Ibrahim Lonyiko Lokaala one of the pastoralists who was convinced by the team attached to Abemari SMC limited to supply 277 goats for the company to distribute to Kaabong district since their contract with OPM was to distribute local East African female goats in in the region.

According to Lokaala his attempts to reach Nambafu who used the name of Abemari company to take his goats have failed to yield anything.
“Nelson Nambafu with someone known as Emmanuel Nuwagaba Barack approached me on behalf of Abemari company to mobilize for them local goats worth Shs34million but after taking away my goats they have not paid me a single coin and all their phones are off”- Lokaala told this website.
Ibrahim says they are other people who’s goats have been taken in the similar manner like how his vanished in the hands of the Nambaafu guys who failed to pay.
Timothy Longole a resident of Kalapata subcounty said the owner’s of the companies were not directly involved in the buying and distribution of the goats to the people in Karamoja instead they were using middle people.
“We are facing double suffering one for the stolen iron sheets and the goats taken without any payments”- says Longole.
Parliamentary committee on the presidential affairs is currently investigating the OPM activities including the distribution of goats in Karamoja.
This website contacted Nelson Nambafu through his friend and indeed he confirmed knowing the debt of with Lokaala and blamed it to his friend Emanuel Nuwagaba whom he said he deliberated dodged to pay for the goats.
“Its true that gentleman Lokaala supplied us the goats but the problem is from my colleague Emmanuel Nuwagaba who become big headed to pay the man his money’-says Nambafu.
However, Nuwagaba when contact also shifted the blame to Nelson Nambafu saying he was the one dealing with the Lokaala directly.
