Since their release from jail where they had been incarcerated for 17 months, the two legislators Muhammad Ssegirinya and Allan Ssewanyana had never opened up on what transpired prior to their freedom.
A lot has been said including negotiations between the two members of parliament and government. These have been attributed to the leader of opposition Mathias Mpuuga who has vehemently denied ever doing that while Democratic Party president general Norbert Mao has come to claim credit of brokering negotiations between the two legislators and Museveni.

Besides the hullaballoo however, it’s only Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana who know the whole truth of what led to their release and who was involved. This has caused mixed reactions with many concluding that the legislator were victims of political persecution.
Kawempe North legislator Muhammed Ssegirinya alias Mr. Updates was a visitor to Kyagulanyi’s swanky residency in Magere over the weekend where he revealed that he’s still firm in the struggle and nothing can change his mind in seeing that Museveni’s ‘bad rule’ comes to an end.
While at Bobi Wine’s home Ssegirinya narrated his prison ordeal and discussed other things that are not and won’t get to the media. The NUP principal confirmed hosting Mr. Update and also talking to Allan Ssewanyana too over the phone and the two will soon address the nation.
