Ugandan doctors under their Umbrella Uganda Medical Association voted to prematurely end the tenure of their President Dr. Samuel Odongo Oledo and suspended him from the association for four years.
Oledo is being punished for leading a group of Intern Doctors donned in Clinical courts at Kololo last month to kneel and endorse president Museveni to continue with his leadership interrupted beyond 2026 something that didn’t go well with the membership of the association he leads.

Despite chest thumping he had a right to kneel and would kneel for the president and endorse him for as many time as he can, over 98% of the members who attended the Sunday’s Extra ordinary meeting voted that Oledo had bleached articles three and seven of the association’s constitution and decided to vote him out as president and also ban him from the association for four years.
Oledo was in the same extra ordinary meeting replaced by Dr. Edith Nakku-Jolobbo who will now lead the association for the remaining one year if nothing changes. Dr Herbert Luswata, the association General Secretary confirmed the decisions reached during the Sunday’s meeting said a detailed statement would be delivered today Monday.
