The Ambassador of Turkey in Uganda Kerem Alp has confirmed that controversial blogger, Fred Lumbuye is being held at an immigration center in Turkey and not in prison.
Ambassador Kerem Alp said Lumbuye’s visa had expired, changing his status, which is why he’s being held until his visa issues are sorted.
In an outing today, Uganda’s foreign minister Okello Oryemu stated that Lumbuye was arrested and was due in Uganda to face charges of sedition and computer misuse.
The revelation from ambassador Kerem ends speculation on Lumbuye’s whereabouts that have been circulating for almost two months.
