News reaching our desk indicate that Mukono Municipality legislator Hon Betty Nambooze Bakireke last night survived death by a whisker after un identified men attacked and opened fire towards her car on her way from NBS’ political show dubbed Barometer.
Nambooze last night featured in the Barometer show where she teased Mukono district RDC Fred Bamwiine who turned tough with threats and uncoordinated submissions in regard to the Bobi wine protests that have since claimed over 45 people with 100s still nursing wounds.
“When we joined the main road, we were alarmed by two Primos packed strategically in s dark corner. Bamwine drove at a high speed toward the City as we also took Ntinda side. At Ntinda because of road works going on my driver slowed down and non of us can tell how it all happened….A huge stone was thrown at our car that hit the side I was sitting on and in a minute stones and gunshot rained towards us”- Posted Nambooze
The vocal politician who recently crossed from Democratic Party to Bobi wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP) is known for stinging Museveni and his 35-year-old rule in which she says Tibuhaburwa has mismanaged the county and he stands no chance to extend this to 40 years.
During her political career of opposing Museveni she has been imprisoned several times and already paid the price when her back was broken by men in Uniform who attacked parliament 2017 during the Age limit amendment dubbed “Togikwatako” which gave a lee way for Museveni’s to appear on the ballot paper beyond 75 years.
Nambooze says they didn’t bother reporting to police because it couldn’t yield anything and they are only thankful to God, we wait for Police’s official statement on the matter.
