The youngest Presidential aspirant John Katumba (24) has been rejected by Uganda’s Independent Electoral Commission over incomplete nomination papers.

According to the Electoral Commission, Mr. Katumba failed to provide proof that he paid the UGX20million shillings as presidential nomination fees as required by presidential Elections Act.

While speaking to Journalist, John Katumba revealed that he failed to paid the nomination fees because he didn’t have a TIN number that’s required in order to deposit the fees.

Katumba also says he didn’t pay the Ushs 20m in the bank because when he tried, he was asked for an employment letter which he doesn’t have since he is not employed.

Katumba alleges that he had failed to get a proper communication from the EC boss Justice Simon Byabakama on how he should handle the situation and hence he decided to carry the money in cash, only to be rejected at the nomination grounds.

Earlier, the presidential aspirant left the vehicle in which he was traveling at Spear Motors junction and ran to the nomination venue in Kyambogo to catch up with time, after the vehicle reportedly got a puncture. Fortunately, he reached in time.

Katumba says he hasn’t yet paid the Ushs 20m in the bank because when he tried, he was asked for an employment letter which he doesn’t have since he is not employed but he has the money!
