The two crew members who died while on a training mission in the UPDAF Jet Ranger AF 302 that crashed in Gomba have been identified!
The deceased have been identified as Major Naomi Karungi (pilot instructor) and Bernard Wakalu (pilot cadet).
Reports indicate that Maj.Karungi said she was among the few females who had qualified to fly choppers in the Ugandan army with over 14 years’ experience.
According to the UPDF spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire, the deceased were on a training mission and investigations were being carried out to find out the exact cause of this accident.
