Adyaka Nalibbe, the Forum for Democratic Change flag bearer for woman MP seat in Kaabong district has bowed out of the race, just two weeks to voting day on September 26, 2019.

According to Adyaka’s withdrawal letter dated 9th September, addressed to the returning officer of the electoral area, confrirmed her pulling out of the race though didn’t give clear reasons for bowing out.

“This notice is hereby made to unequivocally withdraw my candidature from the race and I don’t wish to contest in the aforementioned position and that my name should be struck off the list of nominated candidates to contest for the position of Kaabong District Woman Member of Parliament,

However FDC has contested and blocked her withdrawal from the race stating that should the electoral commission withdraw her from the race then they should be prepared to pay 200000000 in compensation.

Ms Nalibe’s withdrawal means that the NRM candidate Ms Christine Tubo Nakwang wins the election unopposed.

Kaabong District woman MP seat fell vacant after Ms Lily Akello crossed to the newly created Karenga District in July this year.
