A dark cloud hovers above the National Unity Platform headquarters, Parliament and the Island district of Kalangala following the death of Hellen Nakimuli who has been representing the district in the 11th parliament.
Her death has been announced by the National Unity Principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine via his social media pages. According to Bobi Wine, Nakimuli passed on after undergoing a surgery which was unsuccessful.
More details haven’t been shared but we shall report them as the trick in. She becomes the 2nd NUP legislator to die this term which is ending on 11th next month after Kawempe North legislator Muhammed Ssegirinya who died last year after battling illnesses.
She joins a long list of MPs who have died this term including former Speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah, Sarah Mateke, Cecilia Ogwal, Charles Engola, Patrick Okabe among others.
Nakimuli was last seen this week at the Othodox Cathedral in Namungoona Kampala as the church held prayers for Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi as he was celebrating 71 years.
