
Uganda people’s Defence forces (UPDF) has succumed to Pressure both from with in outside Uganda where many people were condemning army night raids on university hostels during the long week at Makerere University.
Many people from across all political divides and the public domain condemned the way the military police used excessive force in containing Makerere University riots where they fired live bullets to students who were unarmed.
The officer in question who commanded the brutality is Capt Ronald Lubeera and is currently under detention as investigations into what compelled the cruel behavior of men in uniform at the ivory tower takes shape according to the UPDF spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire.
Capt Ronald Lubeera of Military Police has been arrested and detained at Makindye. He commanded the troops in Makerere. A board of inquiry led by Lt Col Richard Ochen Okum has been set up to establish details of what happened and findings will guide the next course of action.
