During the Thursday vetting of CEC candidates at Entebbe state house, president Museveni told fellow big men and women of the National Resistance Movement about the land grabbing claims Moses Karangwa is facing in Kayunga and other places.
Museveni told fellow leaders when Karangwa arrived that his former minister Aidah Nantaba had for many years been telling him about Karangwa being involved in land grabbing.
Museveni said that Nantaba’s reports were recently made to look real and serious when a group of land grabbing victims wrote a petition and brought it to him accusing Karangwa of mistreating them because they are poor, weak and voiceless, by forcefully depriving them of their land.
Museveni assured Karangwa that he was already being investigated on land grabbing claims by a group of investigators under the supervision of General Proscovia Nalweyiso.
He advised Karangwa to be prepared to appear before Nalweyiso and explain himself and that on that day, he will have to directly face his accusers so that they pin him face to face. He will also have the chance to defend himself.
Museveni assured Karangwa that he wants to personally be there in that meeting and see victims of land injustices accuse and pin Moses Karangwa face to face at state house.
Museveni’s direct attack on Karangwa must have made some of the delegates to realize that Karangwa must be a complicated man who won’t manage attracting and winning support for the NRM in the central region where he wants to become party vice chairman.
Many people in the central have been victims of land grabbing which makes Museveni’s comments very damaging to Karangwa who is competing with others like Kasolo, Kiwanda, Sewava and Hachim Kyeswa.
