Hakim Kyeswa is a dangerous mobiliser who ONC manager Hadijjah Namyalo has unleashed to boost the campaign of Hajji Haruna Kasolo for the CEC position of NRM vice chairman central region.
Kyeswa had been in the race for the same position and only pulled out over the weekend after meeting the president who he says focused him on the need to strengthen internal unity inside NRM as the party prepares to defeat NUP in Kabaka’s region in 2026.
Kyeswa heads digital media operations at ONC Kyambogo.
ONC is a big thing because it has coordinators in every village, parish and sub county of Uganda. Hakim Kyeswa knows each one of these coordinators, has their phone numbers and works with them as a supervisor.
All these ONC coordinators may not be voters at Kololo but they can pressurize and even indicate to their representatives, the delegates on who should be voted. All this makes Kyeswa a valuable asset to the Kasolo campaign team and very bad news to his opponents like Karangwa and Kiwanda for the CEC position.
Kyeswa says Buganda is very important and there is no way NRM can rest when the region is being taken by NUP amatuers. This is why he wants to be part of a bigger effort to fight and rescue the Buganda vote back to Museveni.
He says Haruna Kasolo is the man to lead that focussed effort to get Buganda back to Museveni and NRM.
On Friday, he joined Kasolo’s campaign event at Kati Kati hotel in Lugogo where he explained his decision and promised to deploy his ONC network to ensure that Kasolo wins the CEC race.
Hakim Kyeswa is a blue-eyed boy for the leading Museveni reelection campaign mobiliser Namyalo, who is also understood to be privately in support of the same Haruna Kasolo.
Being in position to benefit from the ONC network and good will improves Haruna Kasolo’s chances to win his opponents and become the new NRM vice chairman for the central region.
