The Brazilian netted his first Arsenal goal, guiding Nicholas Pepe’scorner past Aaron Ramsadale and into the back of the net. This 1-0 win place Arsenal in the 3rd position with 15 points and 8 points behind Liverpool who are at the top with 24 points.
Chelsea climbed to the 5th position with 14 points and 10 points behind Liverpool after comfortably winning Southampton 4-1, Chelsea dominated from the outset and took the lead when Abraham’s looping finish from Callum Hudson-Odoi’s pass was adjudged to have crossed the line before Maya Yoshida’s intervention. The result leaves struggling Southampton in 16th place- just one point above the relegation zone.
In other stories, Tottenham’s curse from Bayern Munichen in the mid of the week didn’t end as Brighton pounced them 3-0 making it 10 goals conceded in two games in just three days.
