The Canaries suffered a 7-0 drubbing at the hands of league leader Chelsea on Saturday in what was one of the most one-sided matches you are ever likely to see in the English top flight.
Defeat keeps winless Norwich rock bottom of the Premier League, with just two points from nine matches and a staggering goal difference of minus 21.
At the opposite end of the table, Chelsea extended its lead over Liverpool in second place to four points, though Jurgen Klopp’s side plays its game in hand against Manchester United on Sunday.
There were early signs that this was going to be a long afternoon for Norwich and its supporters, as Mason Mount opened the scoring inside 10 minutes.
Callum Hudson Odoi and Reece James made it 3-0 at half time, before Ben Chilwel and a Max Aarons own goal extended the lead to five just after the hour mark. Things went from back to worse for Norwich, which then had Ben Gibson sent off for a second yellow card with 25 minutes still to play.
Chelsea did though some signs of mercy and only scored further two goals, mount getting them both to secure his first premier league hat trick.
Before the game i put pressure on myself to get on the score sheet, then three came around in the same game, “It’s obviously a massive moment for me. I’ll remember this for a long time.”
Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel added,”It was a good person we were sharp and put in alot of effort. The offensive guys need goals to feel fully happy and….so this will help alot. He [Mount] waited long, too long so it was good he got some goals”
Ugandans have been left cursing after fish processors urged government to stop Ugandans from consuming Nile perch commonly known as ‘Empuuta’ a type of fish got from Uganda’s fresh waters of Lake Victoria, Kyoga among others
Fish processors and exports under their Umbrella of Uganda Fish Processors an Exporters Association proposed to parliament that in the new law, government should ban regional sale and consumption of Nile perch which has a high demand overseas.
This shocking move was made by the Chairperson of the Association Sujal Goswami who was leading fish processors and exporters who were appearing before the Agriculture Committee of parliament which is working a new law to regulate fishing activities in Uganda.
According to Sujal the nile perch earns traders a lot of money in exports and so it should be preserved only for European and Asian markets and Ugandans should be limited to the other fish types like Mud fish, cat fish, Tilapia, silver fish commonly known as Mukene among others but not Nile perch.
Nile perch is not only known for its diverse health benefits but also it has some expensive part the Fish mour commonly known as ‘Enuuni’ which is sold expensive too and this is the reason the traders want government to limit Ugandans to the other fish types but mouths off the Nile perch.
The proposal has since sparked debates on how the traders think Ugandans are not fit to consume every fish from their fresh waters. What’s your say on this…share your view in the comment section.
Early this week the commission nearly banned all gossip Television shows from airing but instead asked stations to change their airing schedules.
#UrbanUpdates: @UCC_Official has ordered all gossip shows on Tv to be airing between 10pm and 5am. A directive which has been sent to TVs notes that any Tv that fails to adhere to the directive, “the Commission shall proceed to institute other regulatory sanctions. 1/7 pic.twitter.com/5LkCg5grWl
In a letter addressed to 11 Television stations who air gossip shows, the commission ordered they should with effect from Wednesday 20th October start airing between 10pm to 5am as they contain adult content not good for children and presenters use demeaning, abusive and derogatory statements.
The shows in question include Spark Tv’s live Wire, NBS Tv’s Uncut Sabula and Uncut Kalakata, BBS TV’s Round About, Kapyaki on Kingdom TV, Tik Tak sesetula on Dream Tv, Access on BTM Tv, Poko poko on Baba TV, Short Circuit sonsomola on Urban TV, Kachumbali on Top TV, Evening Zone on ABS Tv and Select Ebuzz on STV,
This move was sparked by singer Omulangira Suuna (OS) who sued Next Media Sanyuka Tv presenters Kayz, Wako and Mako for defaming him their gossip shows. The presenters were subsequently remanded to Kitalya prison and later secured bail vowing not to relent on their unapologetic, uncensored program.
Upon their release, UCC picked interest in the matter and summoned 11 Television stations with their presenters who do lugambo and gossip to iron out matters of urgent concern to regulate content.
However, as by yesterday evening, no station had adhered to the commission’s directive of airing gossip shows beyond 10pm and this prompted the UCC head of legal counsel Abdu Salaam Waiswa who was appearing for a talk show at a local radio station to warn that they will go those who have not respected the directives.
Manchester United produced a memorable performance to come back from 2-0 down to beat Atalanta 3-2. Many thought this was a deciding match that could send Ole Gunner out of the old Trafford given the disappointing spell even after having world class players on his team.
In this article, we highlight 5 talking points from this march that proved Manchester United’s might.
United Give up goals too easily
A promising start for Manchester United was undone after 15 minutes when Atalanta scored the opener. United’s defensive woes once again surfaced, making it seven consecutive Champions League games without keeping a clean sheet.
For a team which is currently struggled to break teams down, a weak defence is a killer. It is nine games in a row with no clean sheet in all competitions. Somewhat predictably, Atalanta’s goal came from a move down Luke Shaw’s left side. The England star has regressed this season and needs to improve.
Shaw was also beaten for the header for Atalanta’s second goal. It was a basic set piece to defend and the Italian side made scoring from it look like a training exercise. In seven Champions League games at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United have given up the first goal five times.
Fantastic spirit from United
The first half was not an enjoyable watch and the pressure was getting to the players. The players looked anxious and frustrated and it was clear to see that they were getting annoyed with each other.
So that makes the second half comeback even more impressive. When the whistle blew after half-time, United set the tone right away, chasing the ball down and stunning Atalanta with the intensity of the team’s play. The spirit pushed United on to draw level with 15 minutes to go thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford, and surprisingly, Harry Maguire.
While the pressure is on United, the players have not stopped playing for their manager yet. Ronaldo’s winner topped off a memorable comeback.
Rashford shakes off rustiness
Marcus Rashford looked bright when he came on against Leicester City, scoring on his comeback. He began this match well too, but it did not go as smoothly as he may have hoped.
Rashford scored United’s opener, from his sixth shot at goal. It was the only one which had landed on target. His goal came at the perfect time to try and spark a comeback, and it spared him right when it seemed like he would have to be substituted.
It was a worry to see him limp off after an hour, clutching his thigh. He could be a risk of missing the Liverpool game at the weekend.
You cannot keep Ronaldo down
Cristiano Ronaldo was not going to go three matches without scoring. Manchester United’s number 7 buried a header with the score poised at 2-2. You cannot keep Ronaldo down, he’s too good for that. He has now scored in three consecutive Champions League games since joining United.
The goal was a trademark header from a Luke Shaw cross. United need to utilise him like this more.
United still in control
2-0 down at half-time, United were sitting bottom of the group. The situation was a dire one. This result keeps United in control, even though there is plenty of work to do. Bizarrely, the turnaround sent United to the top of the group. That’s how tight it is.
Tough away games are upcoming against Atalanta and Villarreal. If United can get through those while avoiding defeat, then there will just be a home game against Young Boys left to play.
It’s still dicey, but a lot better than it all looked after 45 minutes.
Newcastle United’s new owners have confirmed sacking of manager Steve Bruce making a bold step that was expected since the new era began few weeks ago by the Saudi led consortium in a 305-million-pound deal.
#NUFC can confirm that Steve Bruce has left his position as head coach by mutual consent.
The club would like to place on record its gratitude to Steve for his contribution and wishes him well for the future.
According to a statement posted on the official club twitter handle indicate that assistant coach Graeme Jones will lead the team on an interim basis, starting with Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace and he will be supported by the coaching team of Steve Agnew, Stephen Clemence, Ben Dawson and Simon Smith.
Although the new club owners are considering a long list of potential successors, no one has yet been named to succeed Bruce. Due to a stipulation in his three-year long contract with Newcastle, Bruce is set to collect about 8 million pounds in compensation.
After Watford fired Xisco Munoz and replaced him with former Licester City’s historical manager Claudio Ranieli, Bruce becomes the second Premier League Manager to lose his job this campaign.

Ten men Busoga United have clinched a convincing 2-0 victory over Gaddafi FC at the Gaddafi Arena, thanks to strikes from Elvis Ngonde and Anwar Ntege in the second half.
However, the soldier boys tested them at the other end and should have got something out of the game with Steven Munguchi, Faizal Muwawu, Andrew Waiswa and Mark Bamukyaye going close in the first half.
Substitute Alex Kitata was gifted a chance in the 18 yards box twelve minutes to the end of the game but shot straight to the goalkeeper.
Busoga United lost Paul Ssekuluma to injury before the kick off, worsening their crisis that includes license shortages but held off their hosts with a scintillating performance in the second half to record a second goal.
“Licenses of some of our players are yet to come. My players who were available came knowing they were going to play a strong team but were determined to get the three points,” Abbey Kikomeko Bogere, head coach Busoga United said in post match briefing.
Gaddafi was dominant in the early stages of the game before the break, laying siege to the opponent’s goal frequently but failed to fashion clear goal scoring opportunities.
The soldier boys simply didn’t turn up for the second half, losing possession so easily and failing to spot movements of their opponents.
“The boys lost concentration. We relaxed abit and gave away two simple goals but we shall work upon our mistakes and come back stronger in our next game,” Gaddafi tactician – Abu Mubarak Wamboya said.
Ngonde was given matching orders late on in the game when he furiously protested a free kick given to the hosts.
Gaddafi FC will play away to KCCA FC in their next match on Saturday October 23 while Busoga will square up with the same opponent four days later.
Corporal David Ssali In a Green T-shirt Who Shot Sebulime. CREDIT URN
On the eve of a dark Sunday of 24th March 2019 while the then State Minister for ICT and Kayunga women representative Idah Nantaba was buying fruits at a roadside market around Ssinda after Sezibwa saw a motor cycle rider who from her instincts appeared to be a dangerous person.
The rider who was inquiring about the location of Kabimbiri immediately sped off at a high speed towards Mukono direction but was given a tough chase by the hon minister to Nagalama Police Station where she alerted the police and also dropped her body guard. She again tried to give the suspected rider a further chase in the direction of Mukono but all in vain.
However, the 999 crew from Mukono that responded to the earlier emergency call from Nagalama police station, intercepted the alleged suspects after they hit a road hump and fell off. The crew concentrated on the rider Ssebulime who was carrying a bag, chased and after a few warning shots in the air, the suspect stopped and surrendered to the police who arrested him to the police vehicle.
The stranger, who he was carrying to guide him to St. Andrew Kagwa for vistation also disappeard and wad not traced, after arresting the rider Sebulime he was put on a waiting police patrol vehicle UP5745 but shortly removed from the police vehicle while handcuffed and shot dead by an officer after receiving an order in a call from somewhere.
This incident was followed by police arresting the patrol commander No, 51543 Cpl Ssali Edward, and other two crew members No.50162 PC Opira Ronald and No.5729 PC Baganza Ronald for trying to conceal evidence and the true facts of the events surrounding the killing of Ronald Sebulime yet the eye witnesses at Nagojje trading center narrated the true recounts of the events at the scene.
Ronald Sebulime
The above events were followed by court proceedings at Mukono Magistrates Court that were lodged by Sebulime’s family against the then Junior Minister alleging she was responsible for the killing and also the arrested Police cops who ended the life of the father of two who was instead going to visit his children at school but mistaken as a criminal.
However, the DPP then Mike Chibita advised the police to try the police constables in the police Disciplinary Unit since their cimmander, Corporal Ssali had confessed to the crime and ballistic report proved that it was his gun that was used to kill Ssebulime. DPP also subsequently withdrew murder charges against Nantaba.
Corporal Ssali who was attached to Naggalama police station was charged before grade one magistration Mariam Nalugya in April 2019 and remanded to Luzira prison after he had reportedly recorded an extrajudicial statement in regards to the shooting leaving the other officers free since who were accomplices to the murder.
However, during security’s joint press briefing held at police headquarters, CID spokesperson Charles Twine has told media that Corporal David Ssali was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison on murder after over whelming evidence against him from prosecution.
The conviction has come at a time when President Museveni is routing for an eye for an eye narrative against murder suspects and reports indicate that cabinet has already given green light to the highly contested no bail for murder suspects to be tabled soon in parliament, a move that has met stiff resistance from human rights activists.
On 7th October 2021, a day to our 59th Independence, two events happened in relation to Dr. Col. Kizza Besigye Kifefe (BESIGYE) and Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert (KYAGULANYI), who are both former Presidential candidates in Museveni Rogue elections.
At LDC Court, His Worship Alule Augustine Koma was presiding over a case of OBTAINING REGISTRATION (into Makerere University) BY FALSE PRETENCE where the accused, KYAGULANYI had skipped Court leading to a finding that “Counsel for the accused submitted that the absence of the accused is because he was not served…I find this ridiculous and not true…” So, KYAGULANYI was found to be a dishonest man.
At Mengo, BESIGYE was ‘elected’ Chairman of People’s Front for Transition (PFT) but no one knows how these ‘elections’ were organized, who competed with who, among others. This is no different from the way KYAGULANYI was named President of his ‘acquired’ National Unity Platform Political Party. They both preach democracy but rise to opposition powers through means which do not amount to democracy.
Daily Monitor of November 11 2013 carried a headline ”Besigye: I won’t contest in 2016” in which he told Herbert Zziwa that ”First of all, as a person, I will not offer myself in an election organised by the dictatorship”.
Just like KYAGULANYI promised not to make a political party but later ‘acquired’ one, BESIGYE indeed stood in 2016 elections, was ‘sworn-in’ and formed a ‘People’s Government’. You therefore rely on what they both say at your own risk.
They both have a background of working with the dictator for several reasons: In his youthful age, BESIGYE chose a violent route of challenging the then rogue OBOTE regime in 1981 through participating at the High Level in the Museveni war that ended in 1986 killing close to a million Ugandans.
Until 1999, he worked tirelessly to entrench Museveni fascism through building a country-wide network of public servants serving individual Musevni interests and making them to be part of Museveni political outfit of ‘Movement System’. These are now the Resident District Commissioners (RDCs).
On the other hand, in his search for wealth, KYAGULANYI closely worked with the dictator ranging from meeting his close family, ministers and servants including making a U-turn on Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) illegalities perpetuated by Executive Director Jenifer Musisi by attending a highly billed Carnival despite his song against them. He recently said that ”I met Saleh to invite him to my concert.
On that same day, I met Dr. Kizza Besigye and he came through”. In turn, he got rich, became untouchable despite being the biggest drug addict Uganda has ever had spoiling many young people through false hopes that abusing drugs will make them shine like KYAGULANYI leading them into insanity and lunacy.
A big question lingering in my mind is whether any of these two beneficiaries of the regime can successfully lead to its complete dismantling as we, the majority, who are opposed to it and have never benefited from it, aspire. A greater part of my mind says no.
Those are the two people whose teams have been exchanging sharp words, abuses, name it for the past 10 days yet indeed they are both similar in character and action. But as the Luganda saying says ”Enjovu ebbiri wezirwanira obusubi bwebubonabona” (where two elephants fight, it is the grass which suffers), many young people, most of whom have never benefited from the regime are fighting tooth and nail on either side of these elephants.
This fight is making it clearer that, may be, formal opposition under Museveni is profitable going by the energy and resources injected in by each side.
Fellow citizens, it does not take a politician to dislodge a dictatorship. The men and women who dislodged the French monarchy in 1789 were not politicians. In Zanzibar, it took a non-citizen, OKELLO, a casual laourer, to dislodge the dictatorship.
Let each one of us concentrate on doing what is possible to overcome the junta as opposed to taking sides with those fighting for ‘opposition’ supremacy. The real opposition is the people of Uganda.

What started as a joke on Facebook by NTV press box presenter Andrew Kabuura has turned out into a serious issue as netizens roasted him over comments on Manchester United fans whose team lost 4-2 to Leicester city on Saturday.
Kabuura jokingly posted asking Why the Government of Uganda is silent about what is happening at Manchester United, seems this rubbed fans wrongly and they roasted him over his cheating claims that dominated headlines last month.
Andrew Kabuura was a month ago in the news for bad reasons after leaked WhatsApp chats revealed he was cheating on his wife Flavia Tumusiime with a one Mercy who is an employee at the French Embassy in Kampala.
In the chat’s Andrew was seen showing off his reptile and it was proof that he was pumping national water into Mercy Twinomujuni’s tank something that shook his marriage but issues seem to have been sorted.
Below are some of the reactions from the netizens :
Doryn Heavenrich: Government has no active and vocal staff like the French Embassy.
MacLean Natugasha: Munange, after seeing your Cassava, they nolonger have words. Ebigambo bya bagwako.
