President Museveni seems to be over whelmed by the
wave of the political environment in Uganda so far. If we are to go by the look
of things, he has started mobilizing and soliciting for votes ahead of 2021
general elections.
After holding successful campaigns in the guise of
operation wealth creation early this year, the country’s long serving president
is utilizing any chance availed to him from music concerts to churches to
convince Ugandans that he’s still in need of the country’s top job.
Last year, government through the Minister of Ethics
Father Simon Lokodo proposed a policy of regulating the works of pastors, faith
based organizations and compulsory theological education for all pastors with
minimum of certificate.
The policy received much resistance at from the pastors country and has since then been shelved by government under unclear circumstances but we can’t under look the fact that president Museveni couldn’t just force a policy to pastors yet he needs their votes and those of their followers in 2021.
Pastors Lining Up At Lugogo
However, what sounded as relief brought happiness to
pastors during their Pastors and Evangelists conference at Lugogo Cricket Oval
today Monday, Museveni said there is no need of government wasting so much time
on such policies.
“I have not heard time to discuss it with Lokodo but I
don’t know why we should waste so much time on it. Since the brains are
democratically instituted, we shall find a solution. We shall understand one
another’ said Museveni.
The new proposed policy will require faith-based
institutions to train clerics for their respective denominations and it will
also place procedures to be followed by whoever wants to start a new church and
will be required to declare their source of income.
To make it stricter, the same policy also seeks to
enforce transparency and financial accountability in religious institutions and
it was seen that it is particularly targeting the born again pastors whom the
ethics Minister Father Lokodo accuses of extorting their congregants as they
live a swanky life and drive posh cars.
You can’t talk about the most troubled celebrities of 2019 and forget R. Kelly who is accused of sex related cases. I remember when R-Kelly was acquitted and his case dismissed over a decade ago for child pornography, his brother, Kerry Kelly, called him on the phone and told him…”Hey man…GOD has given u another chance”.
The singer’s response according to his brother during an interview was; “No….GOD didn’t give me another chance. I gave me another chance. My money gave me another chance”.
Since over a decade after his acquittal, R-kelly never learnt. He never changed. He took the fact that the judgement was in his favour for granted. He continued his profligate and salacious act of sleeping with under-aged girls. He forgot it was only a matter of time before his actions would catch up with him big time.
So here we are. From 3 time Grammy Award winner to wearing prison overalls. As much as I feel justice should take its course, my heart still bleeds for this legend. My heart bleeds to see what this guy has been reduced to. He has been reduced to a defeated and despondent figure. Helpless and hopeless!
R Kelly was inarguably the BEST R&B recording artiste of all times! I have never known brilliant lyrics and melodic sounds such as R-Kellys’. I still remember his greatest hit of all times that shook the world. “I BELIEVE I CAN FLY”, another smashing hit titled “IF I COULD TURN”, DANCE IN THE NAME OF LOVE.
I remember all. Up till this moment, they still resonate in my head. Till now, they still serenade my senses. R-Kelly’s songs were that…all that…and all of that. He was a solid master of his craft. A Virtuoso of the Mic. He does no wrong when he hits the stage. He was lord of that stage. You couldn’t contend. Now he’s paying for his choice of life.
If life doesn’t teach you anything, let it teach you to acknowledge the Grace and Mercy of GOD. Let it teach you to learn from your mistakes when you’re being given a second chance. Let it teach you to introspect and observe your conscience. Above all let it teach u never to take certain things for granted.

It’s no longer news that former police chief was sanctioned by the Trump administration never to step a foot on US land on grounds stemming from gross misconduct, violation of human rights and presiding over a notorious police force that crashed Ugandans for 13 years.
US secretary of State Mike Pompeo brought the news to Kayihura from Trump’s administration which sanctioned Kayihura and his entire family and most of his police confidants during his 13 year reign at the helm of Uganda police.
However, Kayihura’s former boss President Museveni has today come out to talk about Kayihura’s US fate that has caused mixed reactions with in the corridors of power and else where in the world and many opposition politicians have trolled the former police chief and used the same chance to warn those doing what Kayihura was doing to Ugandans that there’s a possibility of following his footsteps.
President Museveni has blasted opposition for getting excited and happy because of Kayihura’s ban that it shows they are ignorant about issues of Uganda and Africa.
He also ascertains that his former blue eyed General made some mistakes and is paying the price in Uganda’s courts of laws and Uganda will never hand any Ugandan to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Museveni also says he is an African made product so he doesn’t admire to going to non-African country and to him it’s not a big deal after all they have bad weather, poor foods. So it’s always a sacrifice he makes to pay them a visit
Why do they think that going to the USA or, indeed, any non-African country is so important that if you are not allowed there, it will amount to a painful punishment? I know of no Country that is more beautiful than Uganda on Earth Planet. It is actually a sacrifice for me to visit any non-African country on account of bad weather, strange foods etc-says Museveni

The Internal Security Organisation Director, Col.Kaka Bagyenda has refuted claims torture of suspects by security organs, saying that Members of Parliament accusing the security organs of torturing suspects are just ignorant and that he can’t waste his time on them.
A few weeks ago, MPs led by Latif Sebaggala and Kassiano Wadri raised a matter of national importance that ISO is running safe houses in un-gazetted places where some Ugandans are reportedly kept and tortured.
However,
Col. Bagyenda denied the allegations stating that the security agency cannot be
involved in the torture of suspects as it is alleged.
“In the bush war, I was the intelligence officer of the mobile brigade that captured Kampala but I never tortured anyone. They can vilify me but I want witnesses to come and pin me on torturing them,” Kaka said.
“Torturing suspects is not part of our
standard operating procedures and in fact, if it was so, I would have started
with Sobbi (Paddy Sserunjogi).”
COL. Kaka added that MPs are ignorant of what
happens, maintaining that they will always push baseless lies but time will be
the top judge.
“Some politicians (MPs) are ignorant because it is not their professional area. They therefore, should not pretend to know more than we do.”
