Breaking News: Uganda Confirms First Corona Virus Case

Uganda has confirmed her first case of the deadly corona virus (Covid19) that has caused panic in the whole world.

The minister of health Dr Jane Ruth Aceng confirmed the development to the country at midnight and the patient is isolated at Entebbe Grade B hospital for monitoring

“The confirmed case is a 36 year old Ugandan male who arrived from Dubai at 2:00am today, Saturday 21 March 2020 aboard Ethiopian airlines. He presented with symptoms of high fever and poor appetite”reads a statement by the Ministry of Health.

This comes at the heels of President Museveni’s directive to close schools, churches and ban on public gatherings, in addition to the Wednesday directives, President Museveni last evening temporarily banned commercial flights to Uganda and domestic flights will be allowed.

Breaking News: Suspected coronavirus patient burnt to ash in Buikwe

Disturbing news reaching our news desk indicate that a yet to be identified man has been burnt to ashes in Najja town Buikwe district after residents suspected him of suffering from Coronavirus

According to some residents, the victim had just came back from Kenya where he has been working.

BREAKING: Museveni orders closure of schools, Churches and Mosques Over Coronavirus

President Museveni has ordered to close all schools effective Friday 20th March 2020 for thirty days as a measure to fight Coronavirus.

All church prayers have been terminated with immediate effect for thirty days.

According to President Museveni, COVID-19 is transmitted either when you’re near somebody who coughs or sneezes or the cough or mucus lands on a surface, then you touch and then also touch the soft parts of your body (nose, mouth and eyes) that’s how you get infected.

The infected person may also not know he or she has the virus when it is a young energetic person. The real danger is for the old people above seventy years and people who have other diseases such as diabetes, cancer, HIV, hypertension, TB and others

Breaking News: Panic As Four Foreign Nationals Are Isolated Over Suspected Corona Virus

It’s not good news in Uganda this morning following isolation of four foreign nationals who presented signs of the deadly Corona virus that has caused panic in the whole world.

According to the health ministry press statement released this morning, the ministry is isolating them at Entebbe regional referral hospital after they presented signs of flue and cough.

The ministry further says samples have been taken to the Uganda Virus Research Institute and results will be communicated to the public accordingly.

Police Downplays Allegations Of Knocking Slain People Power Activist

Police has this evening dismissed allegations that one of their patrol vans knocked dead a people power activist Brenda Nabukenya who succumbed to injuries sustained from an accident along Jinja road.

It had earlier been reported that police is responsible for her death after rushing her to Mulago National hospital where she died from. In a statement released by the Kampala Metropolitan Police division

Police says Nabukenya involved in an accident behind Nakawa Market involving two motor cycle Reg Number UEY 675P which was overtaking a police patrol Reg Number UP 4841 and collided with another motor cycle whose registration number was not captured.

In coming sad news indicate that People Power Activist identified as Priya Ritah has been knocked down by a speeding Police patrol in Nakawa Kampala.

Ritah succumbed to severe injuries sustained after being knocked down by a police patrol today morning as it tried to block her from proceeding to Court for the #OTT case.

People Power Youth League leader Hon. Zaake Francis has confirmed the death of Ritah on his official Facebook account.

“I have been reliably informed that comrade Ritah Priya Owa Kyagulanyi who was knocked by a Police truck today morning as it tried to block her from proceeding to Court for the #OTT case has passed away at Mulago Hospital.” Zaake posted

Breaking News: Uganda and Rwanda Agree To Open Gatuna Boarder

Reports coming in from the quadripartite high level meeting at the Gatuna boarder point indicate that Uganda and Rwanda have agreed to end the boarder impasse that has lasted for the past one year within 15 days after Uganda completes investigation, into Rwanda’s claims. These investigations are to be completed within the next one month.

The meeting which was attended by presidents Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Joao Lourenco of Angola, Kaguta Museveni of Uganda and Felix Tshikedi of the Dr Congo rised expectations of opening the busy boarder point of Gatuna.

The boarder closure by Rwanda according to the ministry of Trade and Commerce in Uganda has affected Uganda’s flow of goods to Kigali and lost billions in trade, it has also costed lives of Rwandans and Ugandans who have been shot by the Rwanda army accusing them of smuggling.

Earlier in the day, the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency announced that Uganda has withdrawn the passport of Rwanda’s dissident Charlotte Mukankusi that was issued to her by Ugandan’s authorities.

Wednesday night, social media was a wash of messages calling for help to rescue musician Pallaso who landed in an ambush of charged South Africans who were protesting against Nigerians who had allegedly killed a colored South African on Tuesday night.

A source that referred anonymity while speaking to Ultimate News reveal that Pallaso was not shooting a video as it had been earlier reported, he was just moving around town when he nearly kissed the grave.

It’s not only Pallaso who was attacked but they were charged and beating every one including fellow South Africans, according to our source, the place where Pallaso suffered the attack is where the late African Reggae King Lucky Dube was killed from.

Pallaso had earlier made a live video on his Facebook page crying to the world to help him narrating his ordeal and this was confirmed by his brothers Jose Chameleone and Weasle Manizo, almost an hour later, Pallaso was rescued by fellow Ugandans and taken to hospital and by the time we talked to our source who was not very far from the scene, Pallaso was not so much hurt and from the hospital he was taken at a friend’s place called Hajjati Zaituni.

High court in Kampala has this afternoon convicted ISO boss Kaka Bagyenda’s son for murdering of his girlfriend Enid Twijukye who was a student at Kyambogo University on 4th January 2017 in Luzira a Kampala Surburb and later dumping her body in the Namanve forest along Jinja road

Brian Bagyenda was convicted together with his two employers named Innocent Bainomugisha and Vincent Rwahirwe whom he instructed to tie Twijukye on a bed before suffocating her with a pillow on grounds that she attempted to drop him.

Justice Kazibwe relied on 16 prosecution witnesses who told the court that the 22-year-old Twijukye was suffocated to death with pillows and Brian Bagyenda and his accomplices.

Bagyenda had last month asked court to acquit him and instead commit him to safe custody as a criminal lunatic await a ministerial directive on grounds that by the time he committed the offence he was not mentally upright a request that Justice Kazibwe turned down.
