Uganda police and it’s sister agencies are on spot for thumping the women member of parliament for Buvuma district to pulp leaving her almost dead before she was rushed to hospital for medication.
Hell broke loose when Hon Suzan Mugabi tried organizing a women’s day celebrations in her district, she was denied access to the venue and a scuffle ensued. The armed men of God are seen kicking her together with the district speaker.
Taking to his twitter account, NUP General secretary revealed the condition of the beaten MP while she’s in hospital receiving medication.
The doctors say she’s battling with the effects of the chemicals they sprayed on her. Several other leaders were also assaulted and arrested. The journalists who went to cover the event were also arrested and assaulted! Such a sad state of affairs! pic.twitter.com/HfSqniPTlL

Two weeks ago police blocked women’s day celebrations organized by Mityana member of parliament Joyce Bagala. Using teargas, live bullets and kiboko, the function ended in tears. However, the lands minister Judith Nabakooba has a separate function in the same district which went on well uninterrupted.

Early this week, police also ran battles with women in Soroti over the same issue of women’s day celebrations organized by opposition legislators including Celicila Ogwal.
Police has been accused of selective application of it’s laws because events organized by NRM politicians are not disrupted. Political parties like NUP, FDC are ever running battles with police while mobilizing their supporters but Gen Muhoozi Keinerugaba (a serving military officer) holds rallies when and how he wishes without any law applying to him.
The unfortunate thing is that women leaders including members of parliament in NRM can’t condemn such acts by police on their colleague because they fear being labeled rebel MPs.
The Resident District Commissioner when contacted says the organizers were never cleared to hold the event and they got what they deserved.
Now if an MP is handled like that, how about the common Ugandans who pay taxes that fund government agencies including police? Tell us what you think in the comment section.
This is how Hon. Susan Mugabi and the District Speaker of Buvuma were treated by the police and military yesterday. Journalists were detained and forced to delete footage to hide these criminal actions. In a sane government, these security men would now be behind bars! pic.twitter.com/6xqhpWB8nV
