Ssenyonyi and Rubongoya were bundled in a famous drone and driven to Kira road police station. This poured cold water on plans by NUP to hold prayers on this independence day at the party offices.
However, despite the arrests and running battles at Kamwokya where prayers were set to take place and also speaking to journalists, Bobi Wine decided to hold the independence prayers and spoke to journalists from his home where he’s been caged since last week when he was grabbed off a Rwanda-air plane and driven to his home.
Bobi Wine hosted relatives of NUP supporters who are detained, those killed and those whose whereabouts are not known. These held prayers for their people to be released by the Museveni government which always picks them using the famous drones.
We've hosted at home the relatives of some of our comrades who were abducted and disappeared or imprisoned by the regime for supporting change. We comforted them and shared a prayer for the immediate release and return of their loved ones. Uganda will NEVER be independent for as… pic.twitter.com/Gp0V6hSTw9

The celebrations to mark Uganda’s 61st independence commemoration took place in the northern Uganda district of Kitgum where president Museveni emphasized and urged Ugandans to stop politics of identity and wealth creation.
