MOROTO: Activities by Save the children in Uganda Moroto branch were on today paralyzed after the workers discovered a deadly grenade from the office premises.
The Save The Children workers were repairing the verandah of the office premises on Thursday and landed at an half exposed explosive buried around a tree near the office verandah.
Micheal Longole the Karamoja regional police spokesperson confirmed the incident saying it’s the first of it’s kind to happen in Moroto.

According to Longole, officials from save the children reported to Police about suspicious object in their premises and they dispatched a team of police officers who visited and discovered the explosive half way exposed, other parts were still covered in the soil.
“We informed all the staff of save the children to evacuate the place till a team of experts arrive and detonate the grenade”-Longole told this publication.
Longole further hailed the staff of save the children for being conscious adding that if it were other people they would have continued digging the object wanting to know exactly something which would have risked their lives.
