Pastor Aloysius Bugingo returned to Makerere Kikoni, Canaan land where his house of Prayer Ministries International Church is situated amid heavy security. He led the highly emotional church service and at some moment he couldn’t hold back his tears and he broke down during the church service.
Bugingo survived bullets last week on Tuesday as unknown assailants opened fire on his vehicle in the areas of Namungoona in Rubaga division as he headed back home together with his SFC body guard Corporal Richard Muhumuza.

Immediately after the attack, Bugingo would later drive off to Mulago hospital almost 6 kilometers away in a bid to save his body guard but unfortunately he was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital as Bugingo also received treatment in the same hospital before being discharged that very night back to his home in Namayumba, Wakiso district.
Richard was laid to rest at Muguluka village in Ssembabule district. Amidst the emotions, Bugingo dedicated the Sunday service to pray for Richard Muhumuza who died protecting his life. He also asked his congregants to pray and fast for the slaid bodyguard and his family for the whole of this week.
He also announced that some church arrangements remain suspended until further notice as him and the Christians at Canaan are heart broken. The visibly emotional pastor also suspended any more collections for the building of Pentagon, a church building he has promised his church goers and have been collecting for cash for it since 2018.
Bugingo also suspended the celebrations of his ministry celebrating 13 years in existence having started from Bat Valley. These were set to take place on the 28th of this month and according to the arrangements, a mega fundraising for Pentagon had been organized but all this remains suspended until every one settles emotionally.
The Uganda people’s Defense Forces has since heightened Bugingo’s security and all his security detail moving forward will be managed by the army. They reinforced security at his Church’s Canaan land, his home in Namayumba and his Lungujja salt media base.
