Mityana municipality legislator who was recently appointed  commissioner of parliament by his party NUP has today joined the hundreds of people visiting  Gen Edward Katumba Wamala at Medipal Hospital in Kololo where he’s receiving treatment.

Gen Katumba survived by a whisker after unknown assailants sprayed bullets on his Car as he was snaking through the rarely busy Kisota road in Kisaasi yesterday. He walked away with bullet injuries but his daughter Brenda Nantongo and driver Haruna Kayondo died instantly.

Katumba Wamala is said to have punched Zaake during the 2017 ‘togikwatako’ fracas that removed the presidential age limit from the country’s constitution. The heavy punch thrown by Gen Katumba towards Zaake sent him to his hospital bed for close to three weeks.

Putting politics aside and letting the past be, Zaake visited Katumba Wamala in hospital as he revealed that the two mended their friendship long time ago and he had no reason to stay home as his friend nurses wounds and mourns the death of his daughter who even recently escorted him to parliament for swearing in.

“When I was in the hospital due to injuries I sustained in parliament, Gen Katumba Wamala visited me. That is why I had to come here and do the same,”- Zaake told journalists.

Katumba Wamala has since been discharged from hospital and is attending of his daughter Brenda at his home in Najeera ahead of burial tomorrow in Kikandwa Mukono district.
