Last week under unclear circumstances, the highly anticipated Museveni’s presidential televised address was called off as Bobi wine too addressed his supporters at the same time that Tibuhaburwa had scheduled to speak to Ugandans.

According Museveni’s Senior Press secretary Don Wanyama, the presidential that was differed last week will take place today across all radios and televisions and the same will be happening every Sunday despite Tibuhaburwa being a presidential candidate in the highly contested 2021 general elections.

However, in a twist of events the National Unity Platform presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi wine who has had a long week traversing Tooro, Bunyoro, Rwenzori and parts of Buganda in greater Luwero will also be talking to his supporters tonight.

Through his social media handles, Bobi wine announced he will be addressing the nation about the state of his campaigns other matters of national importance via facebook and other social media channels at 7:45pm.

The planned weekly presidential address to the nation have raised questions whether he won’t be campaigning and dominating the media more than his fellow candidates have been thrown out of radio stations over unclear circumstances yet the law provides for equal media space to all presidential candidates during campaigns.

This prompted media owners under their umbrella National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) to write to the Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) to clarify on how the presidential weekly address will be relayed without him paying yet the law permits them to give equal space to all presidential candidates.

In reply, UCC directed media owners to broadcast the presidential addresses every Sunday without failure.
