The planned weekly presidential address to the nation have raised questions whether he won’t be campaigning and dominating the media more than his fellow candidates have been thrown out of radio stations over unclear circumstances yet the law provides for equal media space to all presidential candidates during campaigns.
This prompted media owners under their umbrella National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) to write to the Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) to clarify on how the presidential weekly address will be relayed without him paying yet the law permits them to give equal space to all presidential candidates.
In reply, UCC directed media owners to broadcast the presidential addresses every Sunday without failure.
