Uganda police has made a new announcement this afternoon ahead of the two days of presidential aspirants are set to be nominated tomorrow Monday and Tuesday at Kyambogo play grounds.

Several presidential aspirants have been defiantly being calling upon their supporters to escort them for nominations yet the Electoral Commission had only allowed 10 people who should have been tested for covid-19.

However, in addition to the day time curfew that police imposed on the people in the surrounding areas, police have now said each aspirant will be picked from their homes by the traffic police to the place of nomination.

Among the aspirants who had been defiantly calling on their supporters is FDC’s Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA), NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu but now with the new developments, their supporters may not be able to follow them if police are escorting them.

This information comes at a time when the electoral commission has so far verified 10 candidates who are set for nominations and these include NRM’s Yoweri Kaguta Museveni also known as Tibuhaburwa, A.N.T’s Mugisha Muntu Gregory, NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu popularly known as Bobi wine.

The other candidates are, Nancy Kalembe who is the only female so far running on an independent Ticket, Henry Tumukunde of the kisoboka group, Journalist cum Pastor and politician Joseph Kabuleta among others.
