Police officers stranded as heavy rains destroy their quarters.

Police officers in Kamengo, Mpigi District left stranded after their houses were last night destroyed by heavy rains that left a lot of property worth Millions destroyed on Wednesday evening. 

The cops are now begging and asking help from the community and surrounding local leaders and also the good Samaritans to reconstruct their houses. 

The destroyed quarter is believed to have been accomodating over seven policemen with their wives and children. 

“You can imagine seven families for police officers keeping the law and order for this great nation sleeping under one roof. How do they fulfill conjugal activities when their children are present? This is sad!” Ms. Joan Nakaggwa, a resident of Kamengo said. 

Police officers have now started efforts to try gather some iron sheets and tents so that they could construct temporary structures as they wait for more support 

“We have already notified our bosses at police headquarters but nothing has been done yet to help us. Let’s wait and see what they’ll do for us,” ASP Yudaya Mugoya, officer in charge at Kamengo Police Station said.
