Me and you have ever celebrated birth days, Right? Our good friends always shower us with messages of happy birth day, may you blow more candles, this was a different line with people power as the old man from Rwakitura president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was celebrating his brit day last Sunday.
People power pressure group has once again mocked the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who for not living to his words and they have vowed to democratically retire him come 2021.
The message was delivered by the Pressure group’s spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi on Sunday who reminded president Museveni of how he vowed not to lead Uganda when he’s above 75 years of age.
In a tweet sent on Sunday, Ssenyonyi highlights on Museveni’s hatred for leaders beyond 75 years.
“Happy 75th Birth day Gen. Yoweri Museveni. As you admitted in this video, your vigour was waned and your’re no longer able to actively provide leadership to Uganda. We want to help you fulfil this promise you made come 2021, by peacefully retiring you.”
The spokesperson was making reference of NTV’s Interview with President Museveni where he categorically stated that he will be retiring as soon as he clocks 75.
“I think that one we had ignored, we had not discussed it, it can be discussed but I think after 75 the vigor I think there’s some scientific idea there but the vigor is not as much as after 75 years, that one I wouldn’t quarrel so much but I know there are some leaders who have been leading even beyond 75 but I think if you have very active leaders, you should consider those below 75years”- Says President Museveni in the video.
Patrick Kamala: So you wouldn’t go beyond 75-years sir?
President Museveni: Not at all.
In a video published on 04th July 2017, the president slams leaders above 75 years that their vigor to lead is outdated. No sooner had he vowed not to go beyond 75 than he himself led a struggle fronted by Honorable Raphael Magyezi to table the controversial age-limit cap in the constitution of Uganda (article 102B) to make it unlimited for presidential candidates which came to pass in December 2017.
It’s on record that president Museveni has always contradicted himself during interviews for the past 33 years, when he had just come from the bush, the president was so furious about African leaders who over stay in power which himself has become to be part of such leaders he was ill-talking about 33 years ago.
It should also be noted that people power boss Honorable Robert Kyaguranyi Ssentamu has not once or twice threatened to drag challenge Museveni in the 2021 general elections and in the same line the now 75-year-old has already been endorsed by his NRM party to keep leading Uganda in 2021 and beyond.
